A self-taught artist, Ari Valento creates images in a unique and recognizable style – never fully abstract nor entirely figurative but always somewhere in between. The paintings are precise yet stripped of detail, minimal yet dense, orderly yet chaotic – each expressing a tension between opposing forces while never settling into either.
Systematically colorful, hard-edged and geometrical, the subjects represented look as if they had been filtered through the artist’s personal lens, inviting viewers to discover a new pictural language.
Following a lengthy process of maturation that suddently materializes in a flash of creation, each painting is then meticulously executed according to Ari Valento’s sense of colors, shapes and composition.
